WE ARE IN DIALOGUE WITH TANER TOMBULOĞLU

This month, we are hosting Taner Tombuloğlu, partner of 42 Maslak project, whose lighting design and consultancy is done by NA Lightstyle, in our “Dialogue” interviews on Lighting Design with our guests from different disciplines of the industry.

We talked about lighting design with Taner Tombuloğlu, the Founding Partner and Board Member of BAY İnşaat, continuing its activities since 1997 and presenting life projects designed by the best architects of the world and Turkey to its customers

1. How does light affect your lifestyle in your life, work or home?

Light directly affects my lifestyle. In addition to the positive effects of natural light on the human spirit and body, artificial light can increase human life and productivity to completely different points when used correctly.

2. Which of the following is included in your Lighting Design project/investment? Why?

•        Science

•        Technical

•        Art

The stronger the artistic aspect of lighting design, the stronger the science and technique involved with the development of the methods and computer programs used. I don't think it's possible to separate these three.

3. Do you think Architectural Lighting Design can add value to the project?

Architectural Lighting Design, beyond adding value to a project, is a factor that directly affects and reveals the project in terms of time and space. A properly planned and applied lighting design is indispensable in today's world and carries the project to different places.

4. What do you think the process of working with the Lighting Designer contributed to you as an investor/manager?

Experts in this field, first of all, add significant value to the project. In addition, working in coordination with different disciplines and mastering the details of this subject, which was not known or ignored in previous years, adds much value to us personally. When we consider the economic aspect of the job, working with a lighting designer also reflects positively on the operating costs of especially large-scale projects.
