WE ARE IN DIALOGUE WITH FIRAT İŞCAN

This month, we are hosting Voyage Hotel Management Investment Planning Coordinator, Fırat İşcan, in our “Dialogue” interviews on Lighting Design with our guests from different disciplines of the industry.
 

We talked about lighting design with Fırat İşcan, the Construction Investment Planning coordinator of the group, whose lighting design and consultancy "NA LightStyle" works for Voyage Belek, Sorgun and Torba facilities, in addition to Maxx Royal Hotels.
 

1. How does light affect your lifestyle in your life, work or home?

It definitely affects them a lot.
 

As I learned about the character and importance of light, which I had never known or even cared about before, I realized how it affected my life and how it changed during our projects.
 

I think that the harmony of the light with the general architecture and independent spaces directly affects the human energy, the quality of the space and the perception.
 

2. Which of the following is included in your Lighting Design project/investment? Why?

•         Science

•         Technical

•         Art

In our investments, priority is Art – Aesthetics and then Technique.
 

3. Do you think Architectural Lighting Design can add value to the project?

It adds 100% positive value or can make the project uninhabitable.
 

In particular, the lighting powers and characters that accurately reflect the main ideas of the architecture in the spaces, the aesthetic products of special lighting, and the scenarios are definitely the main elements of the investment.
 

4. What do you think the process of working with the Lighting Designer contributed to you as an investor/manager?

Frankly, we had no prior knowledge and it wasn't something we cared about. However, as we learned the subject from the experts, we realized that we had improved, and we started to come to the maturity to comment. Frankly, the subject of lighting has taught us what an aesthetic and artistic perspective should be, rather than being mere investors.
