Designs started within specific guiding criteria and definitions to create the concept of 'W' Istanbul, the luxury hotel brand of the American Starwood Group. The project worked simultaneously with the architectural office, but the details designed separately and in every detail designed, solutions produced by adhering to the concept. In addition to architecture and aesthetic concerns, long-term efficiency, ease of operation and maintenance, which are significant for hotel use, were prioritized. The hotel has 137 rooms in different types.
After passing through the black glasses at the entrance of the hotel, which has an extraordinary hotel image defined by light, illuminated emerald branches that extend from the back of the reception towards the ceiling welcome you. The desired general lighting adjusted with the rail system hidden behind the mirrored system on the ceiling, and it allows different scenarios with flexibility. Mobility to place is also provided in the vertical by reflecting the special motifs in the spotlights on the walls. The columns of the old cistern carrying the entrance illuminated like a hidden treasure, and a different world is waiting for you behind the tulle.
In the living room on the first floor, ceiling pendants, and warm-colored bar light prepare for an intimate atmosphere. Directional halogen spots hidden in the ceiling in the space allow for various scenarios in different time zones. The modern design wood & brass craftsmanship used in the decoration of the living room and carrying the Ottoman motifs to the present illuminated with colorful filters following the general atmosphere of the space. The lamp integrated into the decorative pendant element with copper in the center, and it aimed to be an illuminated and distinctive decoration item at night. Custom design indirect & warm yellow halogen lamp system's light emphasizes the architectural elements of the space between the caged wooden system in the Spice Market Restaurant located on the second floor of W Istanbul.
General lighting provided by using indirect light that suitable for saving, maintenance, operating system, and flexible solutions in various scenarios in hotel rooms. For local lighting suitable for the function, it has applied custom design details with LEDs integrated into the furniture system. It provides unique atmospheres to guests with various light scenarios in the spaces designed to provide every comfort of the guests throughout the room. According to the room features, specially designed suites, roof suites, wow, and e-wow suites integrity has achieved by using a uniform fluorescent system in all hotels, corridors, and exteriors, and it aimed to facilitate maintenance, operation, and storage facilities.
It is possible to create desired light scenarios and to differentiate the atmosphere in time zones with the automation system that can control the whole hotel. In this way, every place of the hotel can offer its guests differences at any time of the day.
