WE ARE IN DIALOGUE WITH MUSTAFA ÇÜNGÜŞLÜGİL

This month, we are hosting Mustafa Çüngüşlügil, the investor of İzmir Marriott Hotel, which started to serve in August 2021, in our “Dialogue” interviews on Lighting Design with our guests from different disciplines of the industry.
 

We talked about lighting design with Mustafa Çüngüşlügil, the chairman of the board of directors of Çüngüşlü Petrol, the investor of Izmir Marriott Hotel, whose lighting design and consultancy are worked by "NA LightStyle".

 

1. How does light affect your lifestyle in your life, work or home?

I believe that light is an important value to consider in a space. I believe that it is a very powerful parameter that directly affects the quality of life and psychology, especially in an environment where there is no sun.
 

2. Which of the following is included in your Lighting Design project/investment? Why?

•         Science

•         Technical

•         Art

We have experienced in our own project that science, art and technical fields work together in a lighting design project. All of them overlap with each other and reach the ideal result.
 

3. Do you think Architectural Lighting Design can add value to the project?

Architectural lighting design is the most important spatial factor that reveals, shapes and displays that project. In my opinion, it would be unfair to even say that a poorly illuminated project is finished. When the space and the function there meet with the right light, we realize that it has a meaning.
 

4. What do you think the process of working with the Lighting Designer contributed to you as an investor/manager?

I think that working with the right professionals specializing in lighting design adds value to the place and the brand. Witnessing that they offer reliable consultancy in addition to creative and sustainable solutions in our investment reinforced my belief that it is absolutely necessary to work with a lighting designer for the upcoming projects.
