WE ARE IN DIALOGUE WITH DENİZ GALİP

This month, we are hosting architect Deniz Galip, the founder of Deniz Galip Studio, in our “Dialogue” interviews on Lighting Design with our guests from different disciplines of the industry.
 

We talked about lighting design with Deniz Galip, the designer of Brett Johnson store in Dubai, whose lighting design and consultancy is worked by “NA LightStyle”.
 

1. How does light affect your lifestyle in your life, work or home?
Lighting is one of the most important factors for me in architecture in terms of perceiving spaces, forms and colors as desired. In my house, I have lighting scenarios according to different times and modes of the day. It's one of the things I care about the most.
 

2. Which of the following is included in your Lighting Design project/investment? Why?

•        Science

•        Technical

•        Art

Lighting is a technical as well as an artistic subject. For me, the infrastructural suitability of a lighting element is equivalent to the artistic feeling given in the space. Therefore, each of the above features is equally important.
 

3. Do you think Architectural Lighting Design can add value to the project?

Definitely. Architectural Lighting Design adds value to the project. That's why I work with lighting designers who are experts in this field as much as possible in my projects.
 

4. What do you think the process of working with the Lighting Designer contributed to you as an investor/manager?

Lighting designers are our indispensable partners who guide us on technical issues that we architects lack and help us create the spaces we design with the feeling we want.
