WE ARE IN DIALOGUE WITH ABDURRAHMAN ÇEKİM

This month, we are hosting architect Abdurrahman Çekim, one of the founding partners of Baraka Architecture in our “Dialogue” interviews on Lighting Design with our guests from different disciplines of the industry.
 

We talked about lighting design with Abdurrahman Celik, one of the founders of Baraka Architecture, who has been continuing its activities since 2009 and has produced many projects in housing, hotel, office, school, and logistic centers, and also won degrees in various national competitions.
 

1. How does light affect your lifestyle in your life, work or home?

The presence of light in the space, its quality, its movement during the day is a very powerful element that determines the daily life and actions of the user.
 

2. Which of the following is included in your Lighting Design project/investment? Why?

I think that the subject of lighting works together with three areas. Creating a strong feeling and aesthetic value is only possible with the good use of technical knowledge. This technical knowledge can be provided by scientifically competent R&D studies, analyzes and material developments.
 

3. Do you think Architectural Lighting Design can add value to the project?

A well-made lighting design can add value to the space and even turn it into a symbolic space.
 

4. What do you think the process of working with the Lighting Designer contributed to you as an investor/manager?

I think that developing projects with different disciplines is an instructive and valuable process for everyone.
