Istanbul University Rıdvan Çelikel Archeology Museum, which was established within the archeology department of the Faculty of Letters of Istanbul University and built in the courtyard of the seafood faculty, was opened to visitors in 2019.

The museum, whose content and layout is prepared by academicians who are experts in their fields, includes departments that describe the contributions of Istanbul University to Anatolian archeology besides ethnographic works and was opened with the contributions of the business person Rıdvan Çelikel, has found that represent the entire development process of the history of civilization, from the Stone Age called Paleolithic to the Ancient Age.

It is aimed to prevent light damage from the works by paying attention to the UV radiation rates emitted from light sources in the museum that works consisting mostly of inorganic materials that are exhibited in horizontal and vertical showcases. Since the works are distributed heterogeneously in the showcases and the objects exhibited will be changed regularly, lighting design has been designed in a dense settlement in the showcase.

In the landscape area, a design studied in a way to create sufficient brightness levels in the walking and seating areas in accordance with the use and time of the museum visitors and university students.
